What can cause Knee pain?


Meniscus Tear

Meniscus is full of water component and it makes rubbery and cushion like structure. Tear is usually caused by twisting action at the knee joint. It is one of common knee injury.

Bursitis

It is the inflammation of the bursa. Caused by repetitive or sudden stress at the joint.

Runner's Knee

The common knee problem among runners. Often the locate under or slightly above or below the kneecap.

Jumper's Knee

Frequent jumping action causes inflammation or degeneration of the patella tendon.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tear

Part of knee ligament is torn causing inflammation.

Medial Collateral Ligament Tear

Part of knee ligament is torn causing inflammation.

Patellar Tendinitis

Part of knee ligament is torn causing inflammation.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

Caused by repetitive stress at the knee joint causing pain between back of kneecap and front of thigh bone.

Iliotibial Band Syndrome

This is overuse injuries typically among runners. The Iliotibial band is the ligament that runs from the outside of the thigh towards the knee and it is inflamed due to overuse. Sometimes misdiagnosed as knee sprain.
