Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a Chinese Oriental Medicine that has been developed for over 2,000 years and many researches been carried out to prove the effectiveness of its real mechanism.

The modern science still does not fully understand how all the specific Meridian points are stimulated and facilitate healing process but many patients received positive benefit from the treatment for long time. According to Chinese medicine, our body has 12 meridian channels where life-energy ‘qi’ flows. Our acupuncturists examine and find out how and where to access the qi energy of the body and stimulates specific points by inserting needles to alleviate pain or to treat many types of health conditions.

Acupuncture Needle Therapy

Our highly trained acupuncturists perform treatment using clean disposable needle at all time. The skin surface is sterilised with alcohol swab first and then disposable needles are inserted, frequently with a plastic guide tube.

Fire Cupping Therapy

Fire cupping involves entering of alcohol soaked cotton ball with fire into the glass cup for few millisecond and then the cup is placed on the targeted skin surface. When the air in the cup cools down it creates vacuum suction force within the cup. This process sucks the skin and muscle towards the cup. This helps to treat deep scar tissues in the muscles and increase the blood circulation.

Moxibustion

This is one of the most popular treatment among Traditional Chinese Medicine which consists of burning dried ‘mugwort’ (herbs) on points of the body where problem persists.
Acupuncturist burn this dried herbs to warm area and involved meridian points to stimulate the circulation of blood and qi.

Blood Letting

It is done by puncture of skin to withdrawal of blood from problem area to cure or prevent illness of disease. This procedure is based on philosophy of Oriental Chinese Medicine in which blood and body fluids were regarded as “blood stasis” that had to remain in proper balance to maintain healthy.

Acupuncture Laser Therapy

The greatest advantage of laser acupuncture is that it’s completely painless. Most patients feel nothing at all during laser acupuncture. Laser acupuncture is also effective and often shown to be as effective as needle acupuncture for a variety of problems.

TENS and Acupuncture

The combination of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and acupuncture are the commonly used stimulation-based therapies for acute and chronic pain treatment. The meridian points are inserted with acupuncture needles and electrode clips are placed on the tip of needle head. This is done to give better and stronger stimulation of involved meridian points.
